Photos From The Urban Farm

Nothing like fresh vegetables from the garden!

Some may call it an urban farm, while others may simply dismiss it as a garden. It’s true, but in my case, I call it an urban farm because approximately 30% of my little one-third acre of residential property is dedicated to growing more then just a few tomatoes. We are becoming more and more addicted to growing our own food and as a result, we’ve planted just about everything imaginable in the backyard. Heck, we’ve even planted some edible landscape in the front yard as well!

People often ask me what we have growing in our yard and honestly I can’t even list it all. That’s a whole other project! Rather then trying to list everything we are growing, let me start by showing you what we are harvesting!

Are you a gardener or an urban farmer? What delicious treasures do you have growing in your yard? Leave us a comment and tell us all about your edible landscape!

  1. We have lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, cuke snackers, tomatoes, lettuce, kale, colliards, spinach, carrots, peas and beans. We do not have a lot of sun so in addition to our raised beds we have plantes of produce on bakers racks on the driveway on either side of the garage door. This year we took that idea one step further and put produce in hanging baskets on shepard’s hooks in the sunny areas of our front and backyard. The lettuces look especially nice – even ornamental – like this!

  2. We have tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, cabbage, onions, cantaloupe, watermelon, green beans, okra, and cilantro.
